"Summer Camps with Mad Science are the Best!”

Our summer camp offers a daily combination of in-class discovery and exploration, outdoor games and physical activities, and hands-on applications of the scientific principles presented. Your child will be able touch, see, hear, smell and taste what science is really all about. The Mad Science camp experience includes exciting hands-on activities, spectacular demonstrations, inquiry-based discussions, and the opportunity to make amazing take-home projects. We use simple, real world science techniques that allow even the youngest of campers to enjoy our learning environment. These recreational programs are designed to help all kids learn to enjoy science. Children have so much fun that they forget they’re learning!

Camp Topics
Mad Machines & Crazy Contraptions
This inventor’s camp is designed by you—the Inventor! Each day you’ll be given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and the most important thing of all – your mind. If you were stranded on a desert island how would you survive? You will need to build shelter, find food and purify water, protect yourself and your teammates from the elements and find a way off the island – or die trying (not really). Journey to the future and examine the ultramodern inventions of the 23rd century. Then design the future - today. "Create" mini-light sabers, “green energy”, and hovercraft. With a little bit of ingenuity you’ll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, fabricate a winning Egg Drop design, construct a dancing robot. While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration…this camp is 100% fun!
August 20th-August 24th PM Session: 1:00pm-4:00pm Children entering Grades 1-4

NASA: Journey Into Outer Space
Kids start in the Earth’s atmosphere and end up in the stars in this super sampler of space science. This voyage of discovery will explore planets, moons, comets, and other phenomena in our solar system. Come investigate our sun, and other stars and the galaxies they form. Build a Mad Science rocket and then design, build and launch your own version. Learn about the challenges of living in space and undergo astronaut training. Work with lenses and build a telescope. Discover technologies developed for use in outer space while navigating a laser maze. Campers will have lots of projects to make and take home including two rockets, space copter, meteorological station, star chart, and a telescope. This camp was developed by Mad Science in partnership with NASA.
